John I have no words. I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it but your daughters and family were in my thoughts. Not only was you the best boss I ever had you were also a good friend. From doing the quiz in Portugal to you coming to my 30th there is lots of special memory’s. My heart breaks for all your family rest easy until we meet again xxx

I first met John around 20 years ago at Carole and Kevin's wedding. He was friendly, warm and made people laugh. When Chris died, he became not only family but a close friend. His love for his family, especially his pride in Reanne and Chloe was great, and I'll always be grateful for his friendship and support. I haven't had contact with John for some years but he will always hold a special place in my heart and I am so grateful for the time I spent with him. To all his family, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and I hope that these messages bring you some comfort in this time of sadness. All my love xxx

My uncle John, I am heartbroken that you are no longer here. You were my hero, protector and big brother. With us being so close in age I followed you everywhere when we were kids which probably drove you mad !!! You taught me so much, how to catch insects in matchboxes, how to build army's with little green plastic soldiers, how to play battleship, how to play pool and you introduced me to music especially Adam and the Ants and of course all of the dance moves. All the important things every little girl should know. You turned into a loving and caring cheeky chappy with a little twinkle in your eyes. You put people at ease and had time and understanding for everyone no matter what the situation. Everyone who knew you whether it be family, friends or work colleagues loved and respected you so much, I don't think you ever realised how much. I so wish I could bring you back, you have left a massive hole in all our hearts. I will always miss and love you, my uncle John xxx

I remember when John started school aged 4. He didn't want mum to leave him, so mum said she would wait in the red phone booth all day and it made him happy. Mum and John had this thing were they would squeeze each others hand, they said, love you, love too, love all of you. So many memories

My Uncle John's an unassuming man. A devoted father, special brother, partner to Paula, and a great friend and colleague to so many who'll be sadly and greatly missed by all. Your spirit has been taken far too soon but your light lives on in us all. I'm utterly devastated that you're gone. You've always more like a brother to me and our Joanne. Never forget, you'll always be Mum's Jean'll, Uncle Geoff's John Boy and my uncle (brother) and friend. Until we meet again, night night John. Sleep well. Love you too, always xxx

I am Jean , John's big sister. His Jeanl!! I was 14 when John was born and I couldn't have loved him more, as a baby, a small child and a man. My hearts aches with pain and good memories. I cannot put into words how much I hurt, because he is gone. He shouldn't be gone, he was far to young. I will remember all the good times over 56 years.i love you so much John and I will miss you forever . You made mum and dad and all of us very proud xxxx

Very difficult to find sufficient words but from first meeting you when I started work for Nightfreight in Crewe, through my incessant nagging of you for almost a year to come and join me at Alliance Healthcare some 10yrs ago (I really, really needed your help in those early days!) to the last decade of working together at Alliance, your support, humour & friendship never wavered & I’ll always be grateful for having known you mate.
